Stuff I Liked So I Bought - Ulta June 2014 Haul

Yah ! This is my first ever blog post in the history of the world and the universe! I'm really excited to experience the beauty blogging world and share my I have no idea what I'm doing plentiful knowledge of beauty and fashion !

So I went to Ulta today and because I have no impulse control I bought a bunch of cool stuff. Here is what I bought and some of my first impressions of those things.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil
I am pretty much obsessed with NYX, so I bought a ton of their products (especially since it was buy one get one 50% off!) I've used their Jumbo Eye Pencils before, but I wanted to try some other colors in addition to the ones I already have.

Lookin' good. ;) Here are the swatches. From right to left the colors are named Iced Mocha, Peacock Paon, Cottage Cheese, and Dark Brown.
Cottage Cheese is literally the weirdest name for a makeup color I have ever heard of in my entire life. Oh yeah, I just wanna smear Cottage Cheese all over my face.

All of the colors came out very creamy and pigmented on my skin. For $4.49 a crayon, you can't really go wrong. Another thing I really like about these crayons is the fact that they blend very nicely. They work pretty well as a sticky eyeshadow base or if you're lazy (like me) then you can use them as a stand alone. I actually prefer these as opposed to powder eyeshadow because of their easy application. This is the kind of product that lets you do you.

NYX Studio Liquid Liner

I was super surprised by this eyeliner. I bought it in the color Extreme Sapphire, and when they say this color is extreme, they mean it. For a $4.49 eyeliner, the color is very bold and super pigmented. It's also very shimmery, so watch out for that. I love glitter, and I believe if you don't like glitter you don't have a soul, but whatever. I'm not sure when I'll ever wear it, but I'm a Ravenclaw so I bought it in blue. I'm only mildly obsessed with Harry Potter. Mildly.

NYX Auto Brow Pencil
I had bought this pencil from NYX before, but in a different color. Unfortunate the original color I bought it in did not match my skin or hair color at all, and wearing it was basically like "Yeah hi do you like my drawn on eyebrows". I was a little reluctant to try it again, because the color matches nothing close to the lid, but I'm glad I did. I bought it in Brown, and the color matches much better. It's creamy and very easy to use and it lasts all day. It even has a small brush on the other end.

Essence Gel Eyeliner
I haven't really had a lot of experience with Essence products in the past, so I decided I'd give it a try, because what the heck? Who needs money anyway? I'm really glad I decided to try this though, because it is now my new favorite gel liner. It is a very pigmented and doesn't smudge, which are both things I like to look for in a liner. I've been using the E.L.F brand gel liner for a while, but I definitely like this better.

Benefit They're Real MascaraMascara is one of my favorite beauty products in the world, but I can never find a product that I really like above the rest. I decided to give Benefit's They're Real Mascara a try. I haven't tried it yet, but I bought the small tube so I could see if I liked it before spending a lot of money on the full size product.

So yeah, even though I bought a lot of products I only spent about $33.00 which isn't too bad (especially for me). The Benefit mascara was definitely the most expensive out of all of the things, but that's too be expected. Regardless, I can't wait to incorporate these things into my daily routine !
